The Devil has released him back to Earth, still dead, in a strange pact. In exchange for his second chance, Zeke's got to play bounty hunter for the Devil, who has no power in the mortal world. The fugatives? A recent and unprecedented jailbreak from Hell has seen 113 of the crème de la damned escape. It's a pretty vile bunch and, as Hell's not exactly filled with upstanding citizens, Zeke is the man that the Devil can best trust to track them down and round them up. The method? The eyes. The eyes are the windows to the soul, and shooting them out sends the escapees back below.

Zeke's got to learn on his feet, and learn quickly. His first fugative is a priest who, when alive, swept through ranks of altar boys, killing them in ritualistic fashion. Now back on Earth, he's again kidnapping altar boys in preparation for a grisly revival of his murderous habits.
