The Wonderful World of Cleo

Okay, where to begin? If I went all the way to the beginning that would a) take too long and b) be depressing as hell. So, I'll start with me as I am currently and work things in from the past if they're pertinent.

Let's settle this name issue, shall we? [If there wasn't an issue, there is now. :-)] My real life name is Lisa, although I do find myself answering to Cleo...though it's embarrassing to turn your head in response to someone calling that name and finding out that they're calling their dog! I'm currently 22, reside in Texas, about to celebrate my year anniversary of my liberation, aka graduating from the University of Colorado. I also have 2 cats who are under the delusion they're the ones who rule the household...

Since you're reading this on the Chimeric webpage, I guess I'll let you in on my initial obsession with Highlander, which eventually led me to become a Chimera. I started watching HL in 1992 because of all things, Joan Jett. I am a big Joan Jett fan and read in the paper that she was going to be guesting on a show called "Highlander."Well, I'd seen both movies [although if you ask me now, I disavow all knowledge of the "Z" thing] so I was intrigued. Well, after watching the opening credits and actually SEEING the Highlander, needless to say I was hooked from thereon in. To this day, I am besotted with Duncan MacLeod, even if he's going through a phase of wearing pyjamas. Adrian Paul, as an actor in general, has become one of my favorite people to watch.

Well, after a few seasons, a *new* character came onto the show who just fascinated me, the oldest Immortal - Methos. While still undyingly loyal to Duncan (still am, so there :P), I was enraptured and thoroughly charmed by the new guy. Around this time, I stumbled onto a newsgroup called ath and proceeded to lurk there until last year....because I'm a big chicken and some of those people scared the bejebbers outta me! :-)I was finally persuaded to unlurk by this intriguing concept of putting together a list to discuss unattainability and why it's so attractive. So, in a nutshell, that's what brought me here.

Both in real life and in tv and movies and books, I tend to be drawn towards what or who are unattainable...utter fascination. :-) Duncan is the rare exception. As far as my favorite Unattainables on the list are concerned, [besides Methos] here they are in no particular order:

  • Jareth, the Goblin King-"Labyrinth" -- I'd sacrifice myself to him at any time...
  • Lucien LaCroix-"Forever Knight" -- Eternity would not be a hardship with this one...definitely not boring.
  • Lestat-"Vampire Chronicles" -- Ditto
  • Hannibal Lecter-"Silence of the Lambs" -- Well, he just fascinates me
  • Indiana Jones-"Indiana Jones Trilogy" -- He's still being debated on the list, but I love him anyway.

As far as my place on the list, I'm the official Clonemistress, aka, The Mad Scientist. I clone some of our Un's for my fellow sibs to be used for personal usage. :-) This cloning thing is an offshoot of the newsgroup.

As far as what I like to do in the time I'm off list, besides chatting to the other Chims online somewhere else? Well, unlike most of the other Chims, I'm not creative really. I do like to write (nothing ever published because I'm 1) just average and 2) too chicken to submit stuff). I also took a photography class in my last year of school and really enjoyed it...so I still dabble. :-) I also cross stitch and needlepoint to relax although I'm nowhere near talented enough to do my own designs. I also read-a variety of books depending on my mood! Some favorite authors: Stephen King, Anne Rice, Nancy Friday, Jane Churchill, Arthur Conan Doyle, O. Henry, and trashy paperback novels to read while in the tub. My one talent worthy of note I guess you could say would be my ability to dream-I do it in full color, with full senses. I also tend to remember them and I do have precognitive dreams often. Whew! That's about it for now. :-) Hope it wasn't boring....if it was, don't tell me!
